Eight-year-old Mohamed Taufik Syavendy Yasin (above) had cycled to school and back home daily since the beginning of the year.

His parents had initially been hesitant, but agreed to let him do so after accompanying him the first few times.

On Tuesday, on his way home, Taufik was hit by a van and fell off his bicycle, ending up under the middle of the van.

Luckily, he escaped with only bloody scrapes on both his shins.

After the incident, Taufik declared: “I don’t want to cycle anymore.”
