The skin on her finger got torn off after a tyke bit her, but Dr Ong Yean Sze (above) doesn't seem very bothered by it.

The paediatric dentist says: "I'm not frustrated with them, most kids don't know any better."

At her clinic Kids Dental World, Dr Ong sees patients as young as two weeks old and her oldest, a special-needs patient in his 40s.

Last week, it was reported that one in two children here have at least one rotten teeth by the time they start primary school.

She fingers parents who don't wean their kids off formula early and who don't pay attention to brushing habits.

Dr Ong says that if parents don't follow her instructions on how to take care of junior's teeth, she shows them photos of decaying teeth.

"That really convinces them," she says.
