Former presidential hopeful Tan Jee Say (above) is launching a new political party called Singaporeans First.
He will register the party by Monday (May 26) and expects to get approval in two months.
In an exclusive interview before the press conference, Mr Tan shot down talk that he had set up the new party to get attention.
His dream to have opposition unity stems from a desire to be more proactive.
“Even when the driver is awake and he’s going in the wrong direction, we’ll pinch him and wake him up,” he said.
