Good intent, bad impact

May 15, 2014 - 1:10am

Youth counsellor Isaac Lee (above, right) knew something was amiss when his friends started texting him on Vesak Day.

The Young People’s Action Party member had starred in a video, filmed last September, that was shown at the party's convention then recently uploaded onto YouTube.

He told The New Paper: “I realised how strong the backlash was when I scrolled through the comments (online).

“People were saying we’re robotic, that we had no emotions and lacked passion.”

While the delivery in the clip – meant to spark a passion to serve others – was wanting, he defended the “good intentions” behind it.
