He made a huge splash on his full senior debut for Manchester United after scoring twice in a 3-1 win over Hull City at Old Trafford on Wednesday morning (Singapore time).

While his inclusion in the starting XI by interim manager Ryan Giggs raised eyebrows, football fans in Singapore would have surely known about young Red Devils striker James Wilson if they followed the NexLions Cup two years ago.

That's a picture of Wilson rounding the goalkeeper to open the scoring against Sporting Lisbon at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Dec 14, 2012.

While United didn't win that match (they lost 4-1), it looks like Wilson's career has kicked on and he's already been tipped for bigger things.

Here's five things you need to know about United's latest starlet.

1) MADE IN BIDDULPH
James Antony Wilson was born on Dec 1, 1995 in the town of Biddulph in Staffordshire, which is just over 40km away from Manchester.

2) SPOTTED AT SEVEN
According to his profile on Manchester United's official website, Wilson caught the eye of the club's talent scouts at the age of seven.

3) GOAL MACHINE
As his debut brace suggests, Wilson is a goal prolific scorer who has scored at Under-18, Under-19, Under-21 and at senior level for United this season.

According to the Telegraph, the young hit-man has bagged 15 goals in 20 matches this season.

Wolves' and Newcastle's youth sides can certainly testify to this: Wilson scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 win over the former in an Under-21 Premier League match in April while he pilfered an incredible five goals against the Magpies' U-18s in September, 2012.

4) FAST-TRACKED
Wilson has been consistently ahead of his age-group. He made his debut for the Manchester United Under-18s at the age of 15 and made his Under-19 and Under-21 debuts this season at 18. Wilson has also featured for England's youth teams.

5) FOURTH YOUNGEST SCORER
Wilson's clinical finishes against Hull make him the fourth youngest Manchester United scorer in the Premier League era, according to Opta.
